x was right but f was wrong? how did you get x im of out so ill check this when i get back!
5. call the height of the triangle a
a^2=11.1^2-3.6^2
x^2=a^2+7^2
6. oh sorry i got 53.3 for f to 3 sig figs, i didn't add it properly

8. Call the height of the top triangle x
therefore the height of the bottom triangle is 80-x
using pythagoras (80-x)^2=60^2-40^2, solve to find x
f^2=x^2+40^2, substitute in the value of x that you got earlier then solve for f
