Hi all,

Looking at getting my girlfriend a dress for part of her 18th- and was just after opinions on this dress- but I'm clueless when it comes to what girls like really! Am I slightly on track, or way off course?

Thanks for any input!

Personally, I wouldn't wear it but it depends on your gf's style

Well it's difficult to say because we don't know what her style is like. Personally, I wouldn't wear it because it's not my style but it could look really nice on someone else if that was their style. Does your girlfriend usually wear things like that?

It's pretty, but im not sure i'd wear it. If thats the type of thing your gf usually wears, then go for it

Edit; and i wouldn't pay £79 for it!

Why don't you take a photo of her in a dress, that you know she likes, to a shop and either see if you can see something similar, or ask a shop assistant to help you? And make sure you know her size!!!

Isn't Phase Eight's target market middle class women, ranging from 35-60?

I quite like it though, it's not something that someone would wear going out but yeah, it's nice.

it's cute-ish if her style's a bit 50's...
i'd steer clear of phase 8 for the record, my mum shops there. maybe try asos.com black label, topshop etc?
better still, recruit her best mate for help finding one

Let her choose her herself, or she probably won't like it... I usually don't like clothes other people get me but I'm too worried to tell them..

btw no I wouldn't wear that

It's her 18th maybe glam it up a bit more?? For my 18th I'd expect nothing less than Designer, Chic, perfectly fitted & absolutely glamorous eg:

It really depends on your girlfriend's style. We can only tell you whether we personally like it - not whether your girlfriend will like it.

Personally, I wouldn't wear it.

Maybe you should consider getting her something else?

It's a really sweet idea but I'm REALLY not a fan of the dress. It does depend on her personal style but it'd be a hard dress to pull off for a lot of people. It's very...busy.

Many something a bit simpler, but a bit more glamorous. It's a really nice thing to do though

Maybe if she was turning 48... sorry

It's a really sweet idea though. How about offering to take her on a shopping trip instead? As then you know she'll be getting exactly what she wants

Hell to the No!! I don't mean to rude but it is a big mistake to buy a girl a party dress, my brother bought me 2 recently and I hated them and felt really undermined so best buy her a different present, although this is a good website with lots of pretty dressed.
www.asos.com Hope this helps!
