hi, if for example I lived in a village near london, and posted a letter to someone, is there a chance that there'll be a delay of say over 4 working days?

Depends where you posted the letter to? In the UK or abroad?

Well if you posted by First Class, it should get there in 1-2 business days..

If it was 2nd class then that's not counted as slow. But even for first class Royal Mail won't consider it lost for 14 days as there's a chance it will still get there.
