Hey was wondering what would you do if you got a study abroad placement option for a year in US at a prestigiuous uni - New York Uni or alternatively you got a work placement in UK at Goldman Sachs...

The latter because 1. I can't really afford to live in America (isnt everything a lot more expensive over there?) 2. Not to keen on leaving my friends, either and 3. because I can't be bothered starting a new lifestyle

Goldman Sachs!!!

(although I might be more inclined to choose for the uni option if the uni was Harvard or UPenn Wharton or equavalent).

Nope. I'd pick Goldman Sachs over University of Florida.

The reason I said I might be inclined to pick the likes of Harvard/UPenn Wharton over Goldman Sachs was because you'd still be well-placed to get a job at Goldman Sachs or another bulge bracket investment bank after going to those unis and you'd also be able to put those unis on your CV.

HEC and Stern are pretty respected in investment banking from what I've heard. But personally I'd still pick GS over those.
