    Hey, I'm doing AQA pure core 2 maths, and a friend has just pointed out something that has the potential to get wierd....

    if you integrate something like 2x^-1, do you then divide by zero after 'adding one to the power', because surely by dividing by 0 the world of maths would 'mess up' so too speak... or is this way higher than AS level pure core 2 maths?

    Thanks!

    Integrating x^-1 is a special case;

    \int {\frac {1}{x}} = \ln {x}

    ah okay, we haven't done natural logarithms for core 2, so does that mean we will never be asked to do this?

    and btw I'm from solihull too

    :eek: What sixth form do you go to?

    And I've not done core 2 for a while, but if its definately not on the sylabus you won't need to know it (though you will for C3 and C4, and it never hurts to know it already.)

    yeah we do, we dont get a choice about the modules though! Which kinda sucks, but I guess its a tiny college!

    Is it true all of these gang fights that supposedly went on there last year?

    Thats the advantage of the big college, I get to do whatever maths modules i want

    And yeah, we had some gang fights. Probably wasn't as bad as you heard, but there were a few people in hospital and it was a bit messy trying to get through the park for a week or so
