Cutting out porn for 1 month. An experiment. watch

I realised recently that internet pornography has become far too commonplace. Everyone talks about it to some extent and it has become second nature to use it. I also realised that masturbation and porn is used as a comfort device, for example times of high stress such as exams, masturbation and porn levels increase during this time.

I have decided not to watch or view porn for exactly one month. What does porn constitute as? Any images or video intended for masturbation, even the most softcore of pictures counts. I guess for the sake of argument you could masturbate over an image of a celebrity or something that isn't intended as porn.

I'm not proposing that I stop masturbating for a month but hopefully cutting out porn will make me cut down masturbation habits as well. My sexual experiances are few and far between, by removing the ease of use of porn hopefully it may help change things.

So far I have completed the first 24 hours and I'm looking forward to the rest of the month. After a month will I look at porn? Well the idea is that I shouldn't have an urge to look at pornography. The outcomes of this experiment are to make myself more focused, active, outgoing and less dependant on porn.

Wish me luck! and also.......is anyone with me on this? :yep: The hardest part will be continuing to refuse porn after 1 month. I have not viewed porn for a month before (unintially) and well, I'm back where I started.

    Roll on day 2.

I've come to the same conclusion as you and I've deleted my entire folder about a few weeks ago. I can't say I've become asexual but I've become more disciplined and less sexually obsessed if you will. More balanced.

One month will be easy. Try several years...during puberty. :smug:

You say this like it is a negative, rather than the medical 'cure'/technique that it is.

don't be surprised if the urges are still there. i didn't watch any for 6 months, and after that it only seemed more appealing.

Okay, but remember - masturbation is healthy.

I'm in an LDR and so I kinda rely on porn to keep sane.. Although I'm trying to cut it out now(not masturbation though), and see if it has any effect on my relationship with my girlfriend.. Hopefully I'll appreciate her more..?

My boyfriend did this (we are also in an LDR) and he said it made him enjoy sex more. He also enjoyed the dirty pictures I sent him to make up for it a bit

He is now "porn free" as he likes to call it.

This is how I hope to survive.

It has more positive affects than negative, imo.

I watch it at a few times a week and I have been in a relationship the last 3 years. I think it's normal and I don't see any reason to cut it out. Only if it interferes with daily life...

Mainly watch it cause it is so readily available, no effort required.

Ok well good luck forgetting about Hillary scott and Alektra Blue.

Temptation Though Alektra looked a lot better with smaller boobs, don't like them anymore, all big and artificial.

I did it for three months. No porn. No masturbation. Nothing changed. So heres my advice: basically stop masturbating for a month. Then do it twice a week or every 3 days. It worked for me because I used to masturbate 3 times a day and was sexually exhausted. Now that I have a routine I feel more healthier.
