I went to enrol at college today and had a rather nasty surprise. Basically, I wanted to take AS Levels in; Economics, Geography, History & Politics.

The problem was that Economics and Politics were only in one column. This meant I HAD to choose one of the subjects and drop one. I decided to drop Politics. My reasoning was that Economics was more of a traditional subject compared to Politics. The thing is, these were the only subjects available that were only in one column. There are 6 columns by the way.

Surely they should have thought about putting them in different columns? The college had said before hand that I would be able to do the options I had stated and they have not delivered.

I have taken Sociology instead as I did think of doing it instead of History!

    Will I be ok?

    Regards,
    Chris

I wanted to take R.E at AS level, but couldnt because it was in the same column as my Art which i knew i had the best chance of doing really well in, i ended up taking english lit, which was a blessing really, as r.e as well as psychology and history would have killed me. Sometimes its a blessing, maybe you just dont know it yet!

Luckily my school will let you do any combination unless it;s completely impossible due to staff restrictions etc

my college really helped me out. there were 8 of us in our as law class, but only 2 wanted to do a2, so although we only had 2 hours a week class time they managed to still run the course despite having to change all the timetables around for everyone else.

You could always ask them again if you can do them. It could just a poorly thought out form.
