This is a slightly weird question. People with history and English degrees can get jobs at the big investment banks. Quite frankly, having an economics degree doesn't mean you will automatically be suited to the kind of tasks you will have with an investment bank.

Well, that wasn't all all my question. I know people with English degrees at investment banks so I know about people with various degrees getting in. I was just curious about this course specifically.

Yes, of the 400 odd people graduating from Manchester with the BA Econ degree each year, investment banking is a major destination.

everyone's trying to get into IB.. I wonder if they've just decided 1/2 way through in uni.. coz if they had thought of it before going into uni, wouldnt they all be doing math or econ these sorts.
