I have just written article about media studies but my FTP connection is down so I cannot publish it yet. (I need to upload the updated database).

The gist of my article though was that if you want to study Media Studies then go ahead but as its one of the most popular degrees there are probably too many people doing it so it will be hard to get a job.

If you really want to go get into media you may be better of on one of the more practical media course specialising in the technical aspect or study somthing like English which will give you the other skills needed.

what a level grades did you get? That will probably determine which universities you can apply to. Also go on ucas.com and do a course search for media studies. then id apply to the ones with the highest grades required that you could get into. Just a suggestion. i think that there are so many people doing media studies that the uni you do it at could be key to employers views on it. Good luck

what about birmingham? its a fair good uni. big city so good nightlife etc For BTEC diploma it says they consider applications indibidually. anyway its just a general media studies course. Have a look on the birmingham uni homepage to find out more. Good luck once again.

Bournemouth has the best media school, and really good facilities. What type of media did you want to do? I've applied there to do TV Production and it was brilliant at the open day. Westminster is supposed to be good too (but then that's in London)
