Could Someone Please provide answer for this Maths C2 CCEA Question?:D

Hi, I had a CCEA Maths C2 exam and came out of exam and got conflicting answers with other students. I got 97.1 for length but got bearing wrong.

Could someone put me out of my misery and solve question below:biggrin:

Two Ships,C and D,leave harbour at 0900 hours.
Ship D travels at a speed of 24 knots on a bearing of 030 degrees.
Ship C travels at a speed of 15 knots on a bearing of 140 degrees.
{1 knot =1 nautical mile per hour}

Find the bearing and the distance,in nautical miles,of ship C from ship D at 1200 hours.

Thanks:biggrin:

people...unless wanting to display their 'C2 knowledge' will not spoon feed you

I got sides of triangle 45 and 72 given the knots and time given and then used cosine rule as two sides and one angle(110)ie 180-40-30=110 and then found length equal to 97.1. Can anyone verify if it is correct?
