Lnat 2005...

For anyone applying for Law this year, has anyone else but me yet tried the 30-question practice test on the LNAT website?

If so, how did you do? Because performance in a test is obviously relative, and I need some sort of grading to maintain my self-esteem.

I did pretty crap. I got 17/30. I could have got higher but I changed a lot of my answers from the right to wrong ones. In my defense I did it in 30 minutes and didn't check over, but that's no excuse really.

wts considered a good score on the lnat?

Reply 5

Well last year, when it was out of 24, anything about 15 was good.

This year I recon... anything over 17 will be good as I expect the average to be roughly half marks again.

Reply 6

ahh thank you. and the actual test is 30 mins as well?

Reply 7

nvm, i just read it was 2 hours

Reply 8

I got 26/30 on the practice one. I believe it took around forty minutes. But then, it would be pretty ridiculous if I didn't since I read two newspapers a day.

What sort of response is that?

Is that a gloat that you read fast and that you'll ace the real LNAT?

Just because you score well under no pressure doesnt mean ull do great in the real thing.

My response states my score, time, and why I feel my score is nothing to be impressed about. And it's not really anything to do with reading fast - I meant that the style of the articles is not new to me, so I should have scored high, especially in relaxed conditions. I do not doubt that I may score lower in the proper exam. If you're to read the LNAT preparation advice / FAQ's you would see that it recommends that you should familiarise yourself with the style of decent newspapers. Since I've been reading multiple broadsheets for quite a long time, I'm already prepared in that respect. I feel that this is relevant to the topic at hand.

Your response, on the other hand, seems to be prevalent with jealousy, and rather rude. Did you screw up the LNAT, and as a result find the prospect of me doing better than you offensive?

I think he just thought there was an aura of arrogance in your post - like saying "it would just be ridiculous if I scored less than 87%" (which is what 26/30 roughly is)

You probably didn't mean it that way though. :p:

It depends.

Im off to UCL to study Law soon and my score was 17/24.

Would you like to infer a supposition of jealously now?? (oooo if u want to win a cookie try and notice the paradox.. youre not the only one to "read the newspaper" you brainbox you.)

I was winding you up. I knew that you got into UCL. However, whilst on the subject, I'd go to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen or Strathclyde over any law school in England other than Oxford and Cambridge. Secondly, I'm not saying that "reading the newspaper" is a sign of intelligence (you muppet you). But it's the only decent form of preperation for the LNAT, and probably one of the reasons I don't find the practice LNAT difficult.

At no point did i make the assumption that you may be jealous of me, rather I simply was not jealous of you.
Which makes your first two sentences completely Irrelevant.
I dont particularly care if you preferred to inhabit the loins of "step toe and son" over UCL.

"Secondly" I was merely biting at how your previous post seemed rather pretentious and arrogant. If you always respond to ppl who give you negative feedback with the notion that they must be jealous of you.. well.. you are going to be severely shocked in the real world where the chances are.. they're really not.

Well, your first post seems rather ignorant to assume that I would not be able to gain a high score in the LNAT. And I'm "merely biting" at you because of your assumption that I was gloating about my score in the practice test, when the thread was asking about the very subject, and your statement "what sort of a response is that?" when the response was relevant to the topic.

Anyway, please drop the subject, this inane argument is distracting me from my homework.

Well you see, I would have accepted that answer quite readily if it wasnt for your presumption that i was jealous.

I said "Just because you score well under no pressure doesnt mean ull do great in the real thing", I think your the ignorant here since no where did i state that you would "not be able to gain a high score", rather I was stating that it is not a certaintly. (you should read more carefully)

Is this one of those play ground things when a kid shouts "No you are.."

Do u not undertand that i didnt say you couldnt score highly, just that it wasnt a certainty.

Can you comprehend this little fact?
