I think my mum's been to one for that sort of thing. It's supposedly not painful as such, but not the most comfortable thing in the world either.

What's calculus exactly?

My dentist sends me to one to clean up my teeth every now and then and she also does seals and polishing and tells me off for not flossing twenty times a day. She also tells me where to pay more attention when brushing and how to do stuff.
If it's the thing where they scrape stuff off your teeth it's a bit owey. I looked at the cloth she was cleaning the tool on and it was all bloody and my gums hurt, but my teeth were all shiny and nice afterwards.
edit: the noise of the scraping and the pressure is probably worse than anything - it's not actually PAINFUL, just uncomfortable and a really odd feeling.

In response to the question, snuggerough would answer in the affirmative based on empirical experience. T

hings could be worse tho as long as the dentist is nothing like the one off that WKD tv advert.
