Why would you want to do that?

Reply 2

because im thin, like fat people want to speed up their metabolism and im a thin guy and i would like to slow it down

Reply 3

Suppose you could just sit on your arse all day and eat lots, but thats not very practical

Reply 4

lol no, any practical ideas like eating a certain type of food or something?

Reply 5

Eat more, but less often..i.e. have 3 large meals a day and no snacks

Reply 6

You'll need to eat more often to put on weight, at least 4 / 5 times a day. Eat plenty of meats and fruit and veg. I did this for a good few months, now I only need eat 3 good meals to put on weight. But, I do get hungry very quickly at times. I dont think you can ever totally alter your metabolism. Age slows it down though.

no dude, you cant slow it down - although im sure theres drugs available that will do that. How about just ****ing eat, OMG I CANT I TRIED EATING **LOADS** BUT IM STILL SKINNY. Then eat more ffs, which may well be beyond a comfortable amount. I think you know that there exists a viable amount of food for you to eat to gain weight, but youd rather just piss and moan about being thin. Every word you type on here is WASTED CALORIES dude, so turn off the comp and eat a jar or peanut butter or somethin

Hey dude, chill, hes allowed to ask for advice

What I posted was a general tip...if you just eat little bits all over the place this speeds up metabolism because theres only small amounts of food to digest at once, therefore it goes through the system quicker. Whereas if you ate a few large meals, these take longer to digest and therefore body cells have to slow down their reactions as the energy reaches them slower = slower metabolism.

However, this may not work for you, as every individual is different. Ask your doctor to book you in with a nutrionist and they will be able to tailor the advice to your needs.

the majority of people involved in gaining weight would say that eating many times throughout the day is a better idea. This dude obviously doesnt like eating as much food as it would take to gain weight. Eating in a few huge meals would make it very hard to eat a lot of food, but I think eating over many meals, he could eat far more overall.

Ok, 4 or 5, then maybe something before going to sleep. So long as theyre proper meals and not snacks

call it a snack, a meal, eat time, whatever - I think by spreading out his eating over the day, the lower calorie intake density at each time he eats will make it easier for him to eat a shitload

Yeah the guy is right, to put on weight you need to eat more.. lots more. say you're eating 2500 a day on a fast metabolism, try eating 3000 for a week, if your weight doesn't go up, try 3500, keep going becuase in the end your weight WILL go up..

keep food in front of you all the time and you will eat it. all the meat you can get your hands on, toast, natural peanut butter, pasta, eat like you're a dinosaur.

If you drink a lot of caffeine, slow down on it, especially coffee. Coffee goes crazy with metabolism.

I Praise U Rock Eleven!!! Well Said!

Have a pint of Tuna, milk and oats. Hmmm

If you don't eat so frequently, the body prepares itself for going without for food for a long period of time, so that the next time you eat the body will try and store a lot of this as fat, in case you do not get food again for a while.

Therefore, snacking throughout the day won't help you put on weight, but eating 3 big meals a day should do.
