bad circulation most probably. not to alarm but my friends sister had this only much worse (she got it everywhere and the only way to calm it was to soak in luke warm water) and ended up in hospital. so er yeh....see if it gets worse

I keep getting pins and needles in my hands. it is always both hands at the same time and sometimes its just both little fingers. Do any of you have an idea what this could be and is it serious?

If you are unaware of any possible circulation problems, it may just be a lack of certain electrolytes such as magnesium and potassium.

Try eating more foods rich in potassium/magnesium (such as bananas) and cut back on alcohol (if you drink) - as this tends to decrease electrolyte levels in the body.

Hope that helps.

ive been out drinking for the past 4 days and its only just occurred yesterday. do you think this could be the problem? my hands don't discolour, turn blue or white or anything so i don't think its circulation problems.

If you've been drinking a lot recently then your body is almost certainly lacking in electrolytes.
Just drink plenty of water, eat properly - lots of green veg, fruit - especially bananas!!

You should be fine.

Its not really uncommon...its like wen circulation gets cut off...it happens mainly in ur legs...(but also in ur hands) generally u keep moving it and tht should help restore the blood flow.however if this continues and u cant get rid of it wont hurt to tell ur GP....try not to do the dunk in hot water thing tho, even though it may cure the problem there'd be thermal shock (something to do w/ getting burnt cuz the blood cant cool the thing off or sumthng) ....oh and thts a medical fact
take care

It doesn't sound like anything serious, but if you're concerned, go and see your GP

Does it happen if you are a bit panicky and breathing fast? Could be hyperventilation.

it wasnt reduced blood flow though, or anxiety.....really weird. anyway it hasn't happened for a while, must have been all the drinking and late nights out.
