but then you'll have a choice or three?
so do you think it really matters if you don't know it in too much detail?

and also can someone describe difference between type 1 and type 2 error in rosenhan, textbooks are telling me different things!

type 1 error is saying an insane person is sane
type 2 error is saying a sane person is insane (in the first part of the study)

-that's what is says in the revision guide anyways

as far as I can remember Type 1 error is falsely diagnosing someone with mental problems as 'normal' and healthy and Type 2 error is falsely diagnosing someone who's healthy as having mental problems (like the doctors in the Rosenhan study did to the healthy psuedo-patients)
If that helps?

Actually ******** bricks about this exam!
Tbh its ******* ridiculous, testing our memory not our knowledge on the subject.
Whoever came up with this exam is a dribbling mess who needs to pull his face off the window.

does anyone know the approximate grade boundaries?

psychological investigations - 60 marks
core studies - 120 marks

i think 80% = A
so 144 out of 180??

I went through the past papers for Jan 09, June 09 and Jan 10.

The section b's that haven't come up:

Maguire/Freud/Savage-Rumbaugh/Reicher/Thigpen/Sperry

So it'll be three of them...

And the only Section C that hasn't come up is Behaviourist approach, so it'll be that and one other.

I've attached Jan 10 and its mark scheme if anyone wants it

EDIT - Jan 10 is too big to attach so I uploaded it to a Zippyshare.

Agreed!!! And it's not like you can ********* it like you can with other essay based subjects because they are so specific with sample/findings quantitative details..... T_T And I think the grade boundries will be higher coz I read the Jan 2010 report and last year's people did really well!!! :eek3:

To study the psychological effects of hemispheric disconnection in "split-brain" patients and understand the function of the right and left hemispheres.

There's the Developmental Approach and the Behaviourist Perspective (which contains Bandura from the Developmental Approach)

They are different.
Reply 77
Section C do you think its very likely behaviourist will come up?
i hope soo, thats the only approach i really know!:/

can't wait for tomorrow to be over!!
Aaah **** **** **** **** **** **** sooo much to remember. I've been doing revision for the past week and I'm still ******.

Any last minute cramming techniques?

Also any advice on what might come up?
Reply 79
I do hope behaviourist comes up, it's the only one that hasn't come up in Section C of the past papers, so i have mainly been focusing on that.
It's just the annoying/random section A questions that i hate >.< they seem to require so much detail for 2 marks as well :frown:
