Low blood pressure can be caused by millions of things. My mum has low blood pressure, and my sister had it, and so do i. So maybe it may of been passed down from families? I dont know if it is possible but thats how i assume i have got it. Any close relatives have low blood pressure?

I don't normally have low blood pressure though its normally fine. Some people naturally have low blood pressure but I don't.
how do you know you have low blood pressure? you feeling faint?
Reply 6
well i thought my blood preasure was low.. but apparently not, i think it was 104 over 70 which i thought was bad. I always thought my blood preasure caused my bad circulation in my feet.

i fainted yesterday. Then today still feel crap my legs feel shaky, have bad headache and stomach feels weird and I keep going hot and cold so I went to the nurse clinic at the hospital and she said that everyone else was fine but I had quite low blood pressure and she expected it was even lower yesterday which was what made me faint so to see the GP tomorrow and make sure I have tests done and if I faint again to get an ambulance and come back to the hospital.
She thought it might be anaemia but I've just had a load of blood tests done at the doctors only 3 weeks ago because of another problem and everything checked out fine so i wondered whether it could be related to the other problems. Or just I have some random virus and its making me have low blood pressure.
I'm really busy next week I don't want to ignore it if it could be something bad but don't want to have to mess about trying to sort it round my classes if its some 24hr thing.

I remember when i stood up to fast, and my head just felt like the blood had been drained from it, and i fell back knocking my head on a ladder. Never helped much.

I haven't hit anything but I do keep going dizzy and I've got really crampy arms and legs.

should I go back to the doctors?
As said above I fainted at work on saturday. Went to the walk in clinic at the hospital on the sunday and my blood pressure was on the low side 84/50 and so they said get a GPs appointment and thorough check up asap. So I went to the GP on mon, my blood pressure was better 100 ish / 70 I think he said and so that was that. He was pretty unhelpful said oh well girls faint sometimes or along those lines and that was it. He did tell me I'm mildly anaemic which annoyed me because when I rang back for my blood test results for anaemia I was told they were fine and although theres not a big problem its enough that I need to take extra care with my diet and how am I meant to do that if noone tells me about it

Anyway since then I went to work last night and nearly fainted again getting off the tram after work, I didnt completely go but everything started fading out, and today in one of the lectures I went really dizzy again. What should I do about it, is it normal that this happens? I'm not feeling amazingly unwell but I'm feeling very tired. I had to go to bed for 3 hrs when I got in from uni because I literally couldn't stay up. Theres no way I can get all my stuff done if I carry on feeling like this, and why would I have low blood pressure anyway. I had the blood tests done in the first place becuase I had alopecia and its still coming, I'm still getting the cramps and numbness in my arms and legs loads (which if you notice I moan about on here constantly) and my periods are still all over the shop. I know doctors are busy but I'm worried they are missing something that is the reason for all of this. He took my pulse and my blood pressure but that was it. He didn't send me for more blood tests because I'd only had some 3 weeks ago but the nurse at the hospital on sunday when I told her I'd had recent bloods said they should send me for more, she was also very concerned that I've had a headache for several days but I told this to the doctor and he was like oh well and very dismissive of the nurses advice. So I dont really know what to expect or what to do. If I faint should I go to the doctors again or just go oh well and go to bed.

I have a similar problem, I can go weeks - months, without getting any low blood pressures symptoms, then suddenly whenever I stand up in a particular day I black out and hit the deck, not nice, my grandad was anaemic so I guess I could have it if its hereditry.

I'm having it all the time at the moment. I don't mind if it really is just a thing and it'll go away but I just seem to be getting conflicting medical advice. My health has really gone downhill this year and if I'm having a series of problems surely its possible they are connected.

id go to see the gp again, if hes being completely useless like many are now a days. Id ask to be refered to a specialist to make sure you aint got some form of illness or heart problem causing it.

He asked me whether my heart was beating strangely before I go dizzy. But it wasn't as far as I know. I just don't like a wait and see approach it makes me feel uneasy. i don't like being unable to control my health.
having a really big boner  (joking)

Even though low blood pressure is not as dangerous as high blood pressure. It can still harm you, if you faint and bang your head for example. It needs sorting.

Try going to a diff doctor if you want. Anaemia is a V common sorce of your symptoms, but I'm no expert and would go to a doc
