my first night out in leeds

im confused now as i don;t have a passport or license, and my "pass" card isn't counted as REAL id i was depending on the uni givin me some real id :bawling:

I know- I don't like using my passport. 1, the picture doesn't look like me and 2, I'm scared of it being stolen/losing it. :s:

Plus I look really young- not 18 at all!!!! :confused:

Does anybody know if you have to apply for an NUS card before you go or will there be an opportunity to get hold of one at the university? cheers guys

A driving lisence or provisional licence always do the trick in Leeds for me and my group, or else a passport, and also an NUS card at some places but not all! Anything else is pretty much useless!

yeah I've heard bondi's ace, will be giving that one a shot. As for risa...well, it's just a meat market, fair enough if you're into that but I go out to have a good time with mates, not be molested by creepy guys twice my age :smile:

i've done a year of AS levels and im changing 2 do a BTEC at Leeds College of Music but its too far from where i live so im leavin home a year early. Oh well i'll have 2 wait till Jan wen im 18-wont harm the bank balance

marisa why dont you apply for a provisional driving licence, it will be well worth it as you will need some Id in a city. And im asssuming you will need one at some point ?! driving is ace!! :biggrin:

ah cool, friend of mine.. well a guy in my year anyways, went up there.. now a year later after a gap year im going up to uni.. and trying hard to avoid him lol.. but he said college of music was really good!

how long does a provisional last for? and wont they ask for my birth ccertificate to prove it and ill need that at leeds next week O.o also i am not plannin on learnign to drive for years due to the cost.

no they often ask for u to send passport off.. but is easier for u to take passport to postoffice with completed form and they'll verify it there and then.. no passport in the post and me think it's a lot quicker.. not sure on the length of validity tho.. got one of those pink shiney ones 3months later lol

ermmmmmmm looking on the website http://www.dvla.gov.uk/drivers/applydl.htm

you can seemingly use birth certificate.. which i presume u have.. i guess u can take it to post office.. but not sure
