There's a certain degree of variation in room size just because the hall is so big. The standard room isn't huge but it's definitely adequate.

Ok yes last years JCR were useless, but this year things will be different. In addition to the programme already revelled on TSR (Thread - Ranmoor Intro week) we will also be running a number of daytime events, including:

Monday 19th - School Sports Day (compete to win prizes)
Thursday 22nd - Ranmoor village Fete (including human table football and plenty more fun and games)
Saturday 24th - Meadowhall Guided Tour
Sunday 25th - Alton Towers Trip
Sunday 2nd - Paintball Trip

Hope everyone is really looking forward to moving into Ranmoor now! It will be the best hall in 2005/6!

I'm way too excited now. How far is Alton Towers from Ranmoor then? Takes about 90 minutes from where I live, but I live in a diff direction to Sheffield!

Thats pretty much it for the first 2 week or so but there will be plenty more as the term goes on.

There is still the line up for the indie night on the thursday to reveal that's coming on monday!

hey, im off to Ranmoor too!!! Really looking forward to it actually! When is everyone actually moving in tho?? Do we just turn up at Ranmoor and then be given a room?? Few more questions too.....
1) Are there wash basins in every room???
2) What exactly will the room have in it when we get there??
3) Information on laundry/ironing facilities??
4) I read that some rooms have a network phone? Does this mean we can call other rooms for free??
5) Someone said the internet is free too?? How the hell does that work??

Sorry about all the questions - would be very grateful is people could answer them for me??

2) Bed, desk, chair, wash basin, mirror, bin.
3) Washing machines cost a pound a time, dryers 40p. Each corridor has an ironing board/iron in varying states.
4) Yes. Yes.
5) Plug computer into network point, register it, internet.

Oh and btw, you get two chairs in your room don't you? one for working at the desk, and one for reading?

AFAIK it works for every hall, but I never really used the system. Yeah, you could use it to prank people, whatever floats your boat.

I'd be virtually 100% certain that bar jobs will have already been allocated by now, so I doubt it very much. No harm in asking though.
