Over analyses in the field of romance!
I did a search to see if there were any other threads bout this but couldn't find any so hopefully I shouldn't be repeating one. I was curious if guys are as over analytical in early relationships as I am! I am mostly thinking of text messages. When I get a text from a guy I like, I just can't stop myself from analysing it in the hope of deciphering any clues that he may like/dislike me! I'd like to know if guys do this as well?... And for that matter if any other girls do or am i just strange!

i mean if my bf dosent put 'love ya' at the end of every text i get worried!!! lol UR not the only one!but for guys, i think it depends on the guy. i mean you get guys who send very short texts...which annoys me because it implys that they cant be bothered! but to me guys who send long thoughful texts are nice! lol
yes!! i know exactly what u mean about the little things like not putting "love from" or exactly 3 kisses lol. i think its cos i sometimes get insecure at the beginning of a rship, wanting to be cautious that everythings going well. it annoys the hell out of me, i wish i cld just relax and be cool about it! 
I think everyone does, to be honest.
It's natural to try and read things in to messages from people you fancy. Afterall you are hoping that they are going to say something.
It's a little worrying if you're doing it while you're in a relationship! If a girl I was seeing questionned my integrity because I left an 'x' off the bottom of a text, she'd be at the business end of a hissy fit.

Unfortunately it happened a few times to me

i do this, and i think that if a guy ahs put 1 kiss at the end of the msg he's just done it out of habit, but if he's put 3, then he knws he's putting kisses if that makes sense? Guys: would you put kisses in a text to any girl, or does the girl have to have something about her?
Not any girl but ones I count as friends:
x is for a friend, xxx is for my best friend (who is a girl), and XXX is reserved for my gf only. I used to do xXx to a girl i used to be with but i don't use it anymore.

i have to say i never took into account how my text msgs would be analyised, i tend to allways put kisses and even slip in sweetness or similer words, its just a bad habbit of mine. i guess im going to have to take more care.
im a girl and i often put a single x on the end of texts to my friends, as do many of my gfs. however some guys can take this the wrong way completely and respond like XxXxX...! goes back to the whole thing about it being difficult to express feelings over text, which is easier the better u know someone. if u dont know them, and are getting to know them/flirting with them, then its easy to get misled.

same, i don't really analyse texts from a boyfriend, coz he must like me otherwise he wouldnt be my boyfriend. I analyse more if i wanted to know if someone liked me
Precisely. I don't care if my gf doesn't put x's on some of her messages, the fact she has text me means enough!! I am secure enough not to worry if the number of x's has changed, I know she loves me as I love her. I don't need some black pixels on my phone screen to tell me!
I do tooo, then aganin i am joey (apprntli) and my best mate is a ald and is worse than me , but not jsut with text ameessages, with absolutli everything!

xxxx = The guy's desperate, possibly with obsessive, stalking tendancies. Steer clear unless you enjoy the thrill of the restraining order
xxXXxx = He would like nothing more than to be tied up and gagged whilst you pour hot wax on to his nether regions.
