The "c" indicates an AS grade. She's asking whether we would prefer straight As at A2, with a "c" at AS, or AABB at A2...

Getting two Bs at A2 instead of an A at A2 and a "c" at AS. Looks much more impressive.

Yes  Why does AABB look better?
AABB four A2s rather than 3A2's and 1 AS.

Plus the AS will be a prediction, and the prediction will be based on a few months of teaching and unis won't find that accurate. Atleast the A2 predictions will be based on AS results.

Yes  Why does AABB look better?
Because as I said above, you've achieved BB at A2 in lieu of an A at A2 but a "c" at AS (in a sense it contradicts the achievements of the A2)...

yeah the uni's have more to go on i.e. its a better set in terms of getting offers
(now that is a good reason!)

Would you rather get AAA or AABB ?

id rather get the AAAc

why's that?
depends on what subjects
Reply 16
yeah and what uni's have put as thier standard offer

The uni requirements are (for example) AAB

Which would you rather get?

Personally, I would rather get AABB, as they are full A-levels, and it's better.

I got AABBa, which I am far happier with than AAA (500 ucas points, as opposed to 360).
Depends entirely on the subjects. It would be better to get As in maths and physics and Bs in further maths and chemistry than AAA in maths, physics chemistry and a c at AS English Lit or something if you wanted to do maths, physics or engineering for example

On the other hand if you wanted to do medicine it would be better to get As in maths, chemistry and biology and a C in AS physics than only two As at A2 which might make admissions tutors put you in a seperate (lower) pile.

UCAS points in offers are usually limited to three subjects anyway, so two Bs might not be more points than one A, but dependent on subject and course, may be viewed very differently.
