hi yawarm
i was just browsing through some of the board's threads and happen to come across yours. I just wanted to ask some questions on the Acc and Finance course in LSE as I'm thinking of applying it for the 2006 entry. I just finished my AS Levels and didnt do particularly well: A-Maths, B-French, C-Chemistry and D for Biology
Do you think I'll stand a chance for the accounting and finance course? I really want this place in LSE soooo badly. I'm hoping to pull up my AS grades when I do my retakes the coming January.
And also, according to the LSE prospectus an offer for A&F is AAB, however, I have seen that many people in this forum have got offers of ABB. Why is that?

Thanx very much

the grades have gone up this year from last year, and no offence but with grades like that you dont really stand too much chance at all as nearly everyone who applies is predicted AAA.. sorry comrade but you should still have a go anyway, maybe they will be nice like they were with jiggaman (trying to fill the handicapped quota)

Is there anyone who will be attending/is attending the LSE who isn't drowning in his/her own pride?

Great; because i'm actually begining to feel scared about starting uni, I have come across some amazingly nice, but mainly amazingly arrogant people.

I have so been looking forward to it all along, but threads like this put me off.

Yes and no; i'm happy that someone else is in a similar boat to me but am also surprised at the number of people who are so arrogant. I do not base what I am saying on this thread alone, I base it on the 3/4 months of experience that I have gained in terms of 'getting to know' the average LSE/TSR person.

The thread actually started well and is definitely better than many others in this forum. I wouldnt classify it as silly as the threadstarter's aim wasnt tht.
Reply 50
The thread starter was asking whether having "scrapped" ABB or AAB [] made you think you were "less intelligent" than your peers who scored AAA. Now if that isn't a silly proposition that I don't know what is.
Reply 51
Yes the intention could have been better phrased. But still compared to load other's in the LSE forum, its not silly.

oh my god its teh int3rn37!111!! most of the people on here will be skinny little runts in real life, and are hiding behind an alias where they can say anything and get away with it. if you came across bismark for example in real life i bet he wouldnt be so arrogant, same goes for me too.
Reply 53
I'm not skinny. Not fat or chubby either.

I like Bismark.

Why do some people enjoy being arrogant, what's wrong with honesty or modesty?

I agree. I think the internet allows us to build a false impression of ourselves because all we have to go by is what someone posts and that's not really saying much. Unless you've interacted with them offline, you can't really comment on people's character profile.

You think Bismarck's arrogant?

I'm sure you're an angel in real life

Is there anyone specific you're referring to? You say people 'enjoy' being arrogant and I've encountered very few people like that, although I may be wrong...

Yes, I can name names, but i'd rather not.

Anyway Xanthe, you know you're my bestest friend ever, so it's not you.

I hope that's not sarcasm?

I really do like you, or at least what I know of you (via this internet forum).
