The curve has equation y=2 + 5x - x^2

The normal to the curve at x=3 has equation y=x+5
The normal also meets the curve again at (1,6)

'Find the area of the region bounded by the curve and normal?'

I would be grateful for any helping in finding the area as I am kinda baffled and my P1 exam is 2MRW AFTERNOON!!

Cheers!

Integrate:

{(x+5)-(2+5x- x^2)} dx between the two points of intersection

Integrate:

{(x+5)-(2+5x- x^2)} dx between the two points of intersection
If you solve the initial equation simultaneously you should end up with the following quadratic:

x+5=2+5x-x^2

rearrange to get:

x^2-4x-3=0 then solve to get:

x=1 and x=3 then use them points.
