You are actually allowed to drink on oxytetracycline. MY boyfriend was prescribed it yesterday and he asked and they said he was allowed.
Just found this on the internet too:
Question
I am taking two Oxytetracycline BP 250 mg twice a day for a month, then one twice a day, for a month for the treatment of acne on my back.
Being a young busy chap I enjoy a drink on the weekends.
I know the general rule when taking anti-biotics is not to drink. Is this the case with all antibiotics? Is it safe to drink alcohol while on Oxytetracycline? What are the consequences?
Answer
Generally speaking doctors give the advice not to mix alcohol with their antibiotics as there can be a direct interaction of the two drugs, or the alcohol can affect the absorption or excretion of the antibiotics leading to a reduction in their efficacy.
There is also the risk, of course, that during binge drinking the patient simply forgets to take his antibiotics at all. However, in your case, taking low-dose, long-term oxytetracycline for acne there is no great problem.
Drinking in moderation will not affect the action of this antibiotic, nor it's absorption or excretion.
I am pleased to say that you have the medical profession's permission to enjoy a drink with your friends at the weekend whilst continuing to take your treatment. The only consequence will be that you will notice you are a few pounds poorer when it comes to buying your round!
Yours sincerely

Hope that helps!
