I think UKL should consider sueing people who repeatedly abuse this forum.

This could be easily done, as in most cases, we can find out people's IDs and most users live in the UK, the EU or the US, where we the judicial systems are fairly reliable.

Insulting people via the internet is not acceptable. We should systematically threaten offenders with lawsuits. That will deter most 10-year-olds...

I assume you're joking...

I am actually being serious.

This is becoming a fairly big forums and many people are being damaged if an offensive post is made. Most of all, the forum itself, and hence its owner are the victims of such posts.

The law is there to protect you against people who want to cause you nuisance.

It has been suggested that we should be stricter at registration etc. etc.

That's like building a wall round your house to prevent burglars from breaking in. In a civilized country, most people don't do that, because the law protects them.

The internet should not be a completely lawless space.

It is possible to enforce law on UKL, because most users come from countries that do have relatively well developped judiciary system.

So, why not?

Although the cost may seem daunting at first, if UKL actually wins of these claims, the owner would make quite a lot of money.

Besides, I doubt that UKL would actually need to go to court. A credible threat of legal action should be enough to deter most malicious users.
