hey has anybody been told to PAT (Portable Appliance Test) test their appliances eg. kettle, toaster, laptop, hifi etc. Somerville even wants certificates to say its PAT tested so I cant even fake it!! Does anybody know where i can get it done without having to pay a £70 call out charge!! Any help is appreciated

I got my stuff tested but I never gave in a certificate.. so effectively I wasted my money. If you have proof, items that are under a year old don't need to be tested either.

No.. If I could have my time again, I wouldn't bother with the testing. Unless you actually OWN something that could catch on fire and burn down Vaughan!!

No. I've never pothered and never been asked.
It's a waste of time, and will cost more than the applicance in the case of kettles. Just ignore it and it should go away.
