Doxbridge

When I was there for interviews we formed a little group of northerners- 2 of us from Teesside one from Sunderland and one from Bolton (who got in) and a girl from northern ireland. I heard some other people bitching about a girl from yorkshire which was mean! I'm glad to be in northern territory in Durham :biggrin:

aye im glad im in a place where my accent wont be quite as noticeable... i just couldnt believe this professor guy had the cheek to comment on my accent lol... when i was there for interviews we hung round in a rather large group of commoners n 1 person from the gang got in... bout 10 didnt lol

well i was pooled at camb and didn't get in - im not particularly bitter and given the chance i would have gone there but... durham is fantastic for so many other reasons. That it's a good uni is a given and at the level that it is differences in actual quality of learning are marginal. Reputation is what counts and durham is never likely to have as good a rep as oxbridge but frankly...

only the idiots who would use such a term as doxbridge... where morals would slap them id settle for a withering look and a bitchy comment amount them... possibly relating to their appearance/outfit.

the stupid thing is if you're stupid enough to say "doxbridge" you make it perfectly clear that you are A) an oxbridge reject B) bitter and C) a durhamite

yeah i do that too...no reason to get up in the morning so i dont... except im always woken up at 7 w my mam screaming at my bro to get outa bed for school.... but i normally jus go back to sleep for a few hours... lazy or wha.. but s'all good...

i am looking forward to having some sort of structure though in a few weeks time :smile:

I get up at 7 as my mum makes breakfast and goes out then, if i didnt get up then I'd have to make my own breakfast and food helps me get another 3hrs sleep

I'm looking forward to some structure, but not the structure which leaves the house at 8 and arrives back at 7pm

lol i cant believe u get up at 7 just so you dont have to make your own breakfast... i just skip breakfast and get up at dinner time.... not that anyone would make breakfast for me at 7 anyway! you lucky bugger :p:

At college last term when we had no lectures all term I used to get up for breakfast at 8 then read the free times until bout 9 then start doin stuff, some days it was really nice sitting watching the ducks in the pond sat eating breakfast in the morning sun :cool:
