basically i need to make a makeshift bath plug.

anyone have any suggestions?

best i can come up with is splitting open a condom and hoping the water pressure holds it down and makes a seal.

Wouldn't a good amount of kitchen roll do this? Stuff the plughole with it, wait for it to get soaked and squashed down, then top it up until the plughole's completely covered.

The condom idea won't work. You can use a facecloth underneath a heavy shampoo bottle, which isn't completely watertight but lasts a good while.

use a small hand towel or flannel and shove it into the plus hole. or a small cloth that you use to polish with or wash dishes with and it will become saturated with water. wont be 100% water tight but will work for a fair amount of time just fill bath up slightly more to make up for amount lost like every 5 mins.

get a bag and put wet tissue into it and then mould into shape of bath plug hole. then when you have done that tie bag off with elastic band or bobble or something similar. and away you go. you have a plug. not only for the one use but use it for a few days and clean the bag and replace tissue.
