The tie can be anything....although I wouldn't choose something wild as you seriously will regret it later on!
I think I was told white shirt only though. Churchill might have a different policy though so check

Yeah it varies between colleges. Sidney let guys wear a suit of any colour, and girls can wear anything smart.

excelleeeent. sidney is brilliant etc.

if you mean matriculation dinner then just a suit and any shirt and tie should be fine. and theyre not going to go around checking your socks so any colour should be fine!

if you mean actually matriculating then you dont need to wear anything - you just write your name on a bit of paper.

No, some colleges have a proper ceremony with a dresscode.

All colleges (apart from King's I think) have a gowned up matriculation photo don't they?

:p: I knew that someone would give that answer! Seriously, though, what do girls usually wear underneath their gowns (pants, skirt, dress)?

Under my gown I wore a black suit with black heels and a white shirt. Although that was specified in the letter...
Rachel: Yeah, Corpus says you have to wear black skirt, white blouse, black skirt, and black shoes with no 'fancy' stitching! :s So I'm going to have to go shopping! Corpus is pretty strict though.

You didn't specify a college in your post, so I wanted to make it clear.

I don't even have a black skirt :p: Does anyone know about the regulations at Jesus?

Or Trinity??? They didn't tell us.

They can't just assume that I'll automatically bring a black skirt (though now I'll probably have to to stay on the safe side).
