however, they did what they did in the name of Islam as did saddam hussein
shows how much you know about saddam hussein....hes one of the most irreligious secular leaders in the arab world....he only started acting religious during the first gulf war e.g. praying infront of the cameras to win support of the arabs

Nobody thinks it's "ok" to incite racial hatred. Unfortunatley, censorship just tends to excacerbate the problem rather than solve it.

well vienna it seems you dont know many people...the majority of muslims in this country who are decent, normal people would agree that those fanatics do noy deserve to be called muslims...they may call themselves muslims but according to the principles of the religion tehy are not.
if they did not feel Islam had been scarred by these events why did they jump to condemn the terrorists? you seem to be the only one who doesnt accept that the terrorist attacks were committed in the name of Islam. on the contrary, ordinary muslims recognise this.

oh so democracy allows the likes of the BNP to go round causing racial hatred, encouraging racial violence???????!!!!!...(remember the race riot of oldham etc.......) i think not democracy is about freedom but also about fairness and equality...why should we allow a party to persecute ethnic minorities?!
yes democracy does allow for the BNP to exist. as they do today and have done before. again, whatever your views, you are again in the very small minority that believe it is democratic to censor their voice.

a democracy does suggest that there should be social equality and respect given to all members of thedemocracy including any of their opinions, so yes, in theory/practice the BNP does have a right to be heard, whether you like it or not.

There are many conflicting branches of christianity eg. protestants and catholics but they both fall under the umbrella of christianity.

People define Muslims in the same way, even if they are not what you would classify as Muslim they have people that follow their beliefs in the name of being a Muslim and they fall under that umbrella when being classified.

How reassuring, I look forward to the Nazi party mach II coming into power.

Vienna; I get the distinct impression that you would vote BNP if you thought they had a realistic chance of getting power.

i think you seriously have to do some thinking..

the BNP have a right to be heard, were the public to vote for them then they would be awarded power. this is not the case. the whole idea of democracy is that of 'power by the people'. there is a clear distinction between allowing them a voice and them making up government. a distinction that even the most basic of politic students should grasp..

from your assumption that my belief that the BNP has a right to be heard equates to a desire to support their policies, i can only say you have yet to grasp this concept..

I don't think in a country with a free media and a plural society and a commitment to a right of reply, you ever solve anything by banning, removing or censoring.
Censorship could lead to driving debate underground, where it "festers". The BBC's actions are counter-productive, as in instead of cancelling out the hurt "caused", they are making a martyr of Kilroy which isn't good for either side.

You can't seem to grasp the concept that my impression is based on more than one thread.
