I personally sympathise with what he says.

Our troops have went to Iraq and liberated their people. Then you see on the news, young women who await the return of Saddam. They can't look after themselves so I don't know why we bother to. Obviously they prefer to be ruled by a cruel dictator than to have Democracy. I say let them have it, the idiots.

If Kilroy were to go on Television and denounce Germans as Krauts there would hardly be an eyebrow raised. I'm sick of these Muslim whingers.

He was right to say what he did. It is personally how I find myself feeling these days and by this poll, a few others seem to sympathise with his views as well.

but you have to remember its only extreme views that get shown on tv. I thought it was amusing and very good that this egyptian - head of arab freedom press watch, took kilroy's side.

i think youve hit the mark and the basic context of Kilroys piece. he was basically saying, look, we in the west have these views and how can we be expected to think any differently...they may be right or wrong, but from our point of view, and as you rightly point out, there comes a limit to how tolerant we can be expected to be. its natural for us to have some scepticism towards the Muslim world when it presents itself in this manner. unfortunately, Muslim leaders now want him to be charged, having not been pleased enough that his career has been ruined.

if they did not feel Islam had been scarred by these events why did they jump to condemn the terrorists? you seem to be the only one who doesnt accept that the terrorist attacks were committed in the name of Islam. on the contrary, ordinary muslims recognise this.
again i repeat...u dont know many muslims.....a lot of them say that the 9/111 terrorists are not "real" muslims. the reason they "jumped to condemn " them is because if they hadnt people would have shown even more aggression towards ordinary muslims

yes democracy does allow for the BNP to exist. as they do today and have done before. again, whatever your views, you are again in the very small minority that believe it is democratic to censor their voice.
oh dont insult the people of britain! i dotn think the MAJORITY support the BNP in fact the MAJORITY are disgusted by them.....onyl a MINORITY believe they should be allowed to continue their campaigns of racial hatred

How reassuring, I look forward to the Nazi party mach II coming into power.

Vienna; I get the distinct impression that you would vote BNP if you thought they had a realistic chance of getting power.

yes i got that feeling too!

I don't think in a country with a free media and a plural society and a commitment to a right of reply, you ever solve anything by banning, removing or censoring.
Censorship could lead to driving debate underground, where it "festers". The BBC's actions are counter-productive, as in instead of cancelling out the hurt "caused", they are making a martyr of Kilroy which isn't good for either side.
not meaning this sarcastically...but what do you suggest the bbc does to show they disprove of kilroy's words?

"From our point of view"? Speak for yourself, but dont you dare tar me, as a Westerner, with that brush. Looking at the results of the poll, it seems that quite a few of "we in the West" wouldnt appreciate your summary of what we apparently think.

Vienna didnt say that the MAJORITY of British people support the BNP. What I understood from what she said was that she believed that the MAJORITY of British people believe in democracy and therefore believe that they have a right to be heard. That doesnt mean that the MAJORITY support them or believe that they should be in power it just means that they have a right to put forward their views. People have the freedom of choice to listen to what they say and the freedom of choice whether to support their beliefs, that is democratic.

Surely in this model democracy you hold so dear, everyone should have total freedom of speech.
    sounds like complete anarchy!

thats what law and order is there for. police and army protect them as in america during the civil rights protests.
why should it reach the stage where the police and army have to protect minorities from violence? why dont we stop the hatred that causes the violence in the first place?

true it is a problem defining it ...but i think in some cases when someone is openly attacking a group with untrue accusations and suggesting people take action against this group its obvious theyre inciting racial hatred
