Seems to me that Vienna has had a hard time here.

The Arabs have a lot of history as has been commented. However it would seem their era has finished and now they are trying to cling on to whatever dignity they feel they have left.

As for human rights records? Don't make me laugh.

The stories of people being told to take their Union Jack flags out of their windows because it 'offends' Muslims. As Ickle_Katy says on the first page, Arabs can **** us off but we can't **** them. As has been shown with the Kilroy case.

Now you wonder why people vote for the BNP? Because they are sick of it, and quite frankly so am I.

what about now you can't display Christmas cards with nativity scenes on in offices or advertise bacon sandwiches in shop windows, but it's ok to classify 92% of the UK population under the generic term "white" rather than English, Scottish, Irish, French...nope just white...I'm not even white I'm tanned and descended from Red Indians (not native americans cuz it wasnt called america in the first place) ...I find that offensive myself personally

The person has given no real back up for their opinion:

"However it would seem their era has finished and now they are trying to cling on to whatever dignity they feel they have left."

What era? Finishing?

"As for human rights records? Don't make me laugh. "

Ok. But I still don't know what you're talking about.

"The stories of people being told to take their Union Jack flags out of their windows because it 'offends' Muslims."

It offends more than just Muslims.

"As Ickle_Katy says on the first page, Arabs can **** us off but we can't **** them. As has been shown with the Kilroy case."

If an arab criticised English people in the press, the reaction would be more severe.

"Now you wonder why people vote for the BNP? Because they are sick of it, and quite frankly so am I."

Sensationalist and pathetic.

Sorry, but I can't take the double standards being employed by Vienna here.

If someone was to post giving somewhat vague and incoherent views as byb3 did, Vienna would jump on them ruthlessly and tear their post apart if their views were not compatible with hers.

I've seen phrases like; 'why do you bother posting', 'don't waste your time' and 'what absolute nonsense' being used to undermine people. She even plays dumb occasionally and says she doesn't understand what they're getting at.
However, when the person is expressing her views, she magically changes her opinion of them, congratulating them on their nonsense post and impyling that the mess that was their post, 'she understands fully'.

Some may say this is human nature, but what it really is; is deplorable and hypocritical standards.

and as the governmetn said it is the spirit not the actual codes you are meant to stick to. Well considering his background (lack of decent 2ndary education) i would not expect him to be able to differentiate between what arab leaders wand and what their people (supposedly) want.
he was an MP once....he sould be able to differenciate between state and people!

my 1,700 post yey,

maybe he has not had the same education some people on this forum had, remember he went to a secondary modern. and he did visit arab countries - maybe that was the impression he got - he could know far better than us. Have you ever been to an arab country?

He also said today "If i am not allowed to say that there are Arab states that are evil, despotic and treat women abominably, if i am not allowed to say that, which i know to be a fact, then what can i say?"
YES i have been to an arab country...several in fact....UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria and Bahrain. I also have several arab friends in Britain...So i think im qualified enuf to pass judgement that ordinary arabs are not ALL as mr kilroy - silk suggests!

What particularly worried me was the incredible ignorance of a man who appears to be labouring under the delusion that nothing useful has ever come out of the Arab world. I'm genuinely disturbed that someone as badly informed as that once served in our Parliament.

i too am always for the underdog, in this case he is the underdog, he has been attacked for saying something that he has the right to say because people did not think it was accurate and many of these people have not even read the original and are just posting on hearsay.
Kilroy -- the underdog???? Its more likely Vienna's a Socialist1
