Well, I got offered ABC or BBB from Collingwood and I was predicted AAB and had got ABC in my AS levels (this is confusing already). I was aiming for my A in English, as in the first year, and comfortably had a B in Psychology and C in Media. The only trouble was that my English teacher was never there due to illness, and adequate cover was not arranged by the college I went to. So we had to basically teach ourselves for a year. I went to the principal about it and he wrote a letter to Collingwood. I actually acheived the highest grade in the whole college for both my coursework and my overall grade (which reflects how hard I worked because I really wanted to get in!!), and I still missed out by 20 marks. And Durham would have let me in, only they were full up. :frown:

thats awful... i missed out on the course i wanted to do at durham by one mark and the principal of my school rang them and told them the music teacher was **** and they sacked her and it was only one mark and they werent full up but just wudnt take me... i sympathise... where r u goin?
Aww that's worse than mine! Poor you :frown: I'm going to Keele University now, starting in a couple of weeks. How about you?
I'm so happy for everyone who got into Durham  (if a tiny weeny bit jealous!)
im goin to durham to do my 2nd choice course (which is actually the one i wana do now... i think) moving 3 weeks on sunday... wot u studying then?
Fantastic  it'll probably work out for the best.
I'm studying Psychology with Education Studies. Maybe this will work out better for me as well because at Keele it has the status I need to do the post grad course in Ed Psychology, whereas the one at Durham turned out not to.
I was just so gutted about not getting in. When I knew I could have as well! Grr. Ah well.
Also, I wrote to my principal to tell him what happened, and he didn't even have the courteousy to reply! So I've written to my local paper lol. I want the college given the name they deserve so other people don't have to suffer the same consequences!
lol go u! our music teacher was hired basically coz shes a world renowned harpsichordist.... but a sh*te teacher lol... so they sacked her just as i left!!! i was the one who kicked up the fuss to get her sacked tho so im proud of my mini achievement.. even if it has no bearing on me
Ah but she's out of a job so you must have a great sense of satisfaction
As will I when the stupid moron of a Principal is plastered on the front page of the Selby Times (<-oh yeah!! lol) and nobody goes to his college anymore.

Do you know what's even more sickening?!!!! He's the highest paid principal in the whole country!!!! £95000 a year!!!!!!!! Sick sick and sick again.
lol our principal isnt far behind... hes not that bad tho bless him... hes jus a bit... well useless... but nice enough it wasnt him who hired the teacher either so il let him off

and 95 grand a year is unreasonable... he should share it out
Should give some to me to bribe Durham, hehe
lol indeed he shud!

anyway tis bed time now...

nitey nite

Hey dude!

I didn't work on the Year 12 Summerschool, but I was a mentor on the Year 11 one and the "Masterclass" one so I know a lot of the mentors who did the Year 12 one.....glad you loved it! The ones I did were awesome!

You didn't by any chance meet a guy called Jason did you? He was one of my mentees for the Masterclass one...really cool guy! Who was your mentor?

No, didn't met anyone called Jason, but u didn't really know people by name there, more by their hair style ...
My friends Alba Griffin (gorgeous blonde girl) and Imran went on the Masterclass one, ring any bells?
My mentor was Serena D'Ambrosio, she was lovely, so sweet. and we kinda merged with her other half Nick's group too. :p:
