Salters in a word, sucks!!! I'm half way through the chemistry course and i'm very thankful there was no salters biology in my school.

No salters doesn't suck..it is quite a weird course (i did the chem one) but its MUCH easier to get a good grade in salters than the other exam boards like edexcel..so id be grateful about it on that count

SNAB (the biology course) is absolutely terrible... but it's easy to get the grades. There's very little hard science in it, so you won't have to focus, but if you're planning to do medice or something at uni I would be worried. PM me if you want more details about the course.

Because Salters is apparently easier, does that mean it is less respected by Universities?

Nope, Biology is Biology to them as far as I know. I had no problems getting into Oxford with it.

yeah i did the salters chem....and i got into veterinary science..so yeah i don't think they can discriminate between exam boards...cause its not like you get to choose which exam board u do

No I suppose not but to an extent if you've not been taught enough raw Science, are you qualified?
i've basically just done 9 hours of salters Biology in in these past 2 weeks. (i started on the 12th) and i'm finding it surprisingly easy compared to other courses which i'm doing (like OCR Physics). Is it just me or did other people find it easy?

Also, i'm planning to study pharmacology at Uni - Will i be screwed with this course??

Yes, it's easy. No, it's nowhere near as hard as the other courses. And yes, I'd do as much extra reading as you can because there's very little science in the course. They'll let you in, but you might struggle for the first couple of weeks. I'd ask your teachers to reccommend some books, or try reading some of the preliminary reading reccommended for your course.

Hope that helps

PS. the practicals are a waste of time, I wouldn't bother attending the lessons.
