alcopops

I know there only 5% but something weird happened today. I got up at 6pm (was tired through being up all night lol) and felt like a wkd so i drank about half a bottle and 5 minutes later stood up and nearly fainted, i mean everything went black and ok again and i was like this for half an hour and had to sit down (was ok when sat down). My heart rates been really fast since.

Does this happen sometimes?

did you drink it on an empty stomach?

that makes no diffrence

maybe because you drank it as soon as you woke up  i dont drink myself but know its not good for your health by drinking alcohol when you just woke up.
I would advise you to see your GP just incase, i never heard of alchopops but maybe you just had a reaction to the drink?

alcopops or not if you stand up to quick the blood drains from your brain and you can black out, especialy if you have low blood pressure or bad circulation, are you sure this isnt the cause?

I don't know. I always find that if I drink on an empty stomach it affects me way quicker than normal.

Ive got into a bad sleeping habit of 4am - 12pm but today I got up at 8am so went back to bed at 2pm. I dont think its the sleeping pattern but it could be cause I hadn't eaten for ages due to sleeping lol. It was only half a bottle though.

All the sugar and chemicals, maybe?

Yup that often happens to me! If you have been lying down for a while and then quickly stand up, you can black out for a second. It's just because for a second or so your brain isn't getting enough blood (your heart has to start working harder to pump the blood up to your head against gravity and it can take a second or so for it to adjust to you standing up).

I suspect the alcopop is nothing to do with it. Although if you had been heavily drinking you probably still had alot of alcohol in your blood and so by drinking a little more alcopop, it would have more of an effect than usual. So this may have made the above a little worse.

If it keeps happening and is causing a problem (as in you actually fall over and hurt yourself) then go see your GP.

Indeed. Eating a meal before drinking alcohol will slow the absorption process. If you are drinking alcohol on an empty stomach, that will increase your chances of feeling ill and/or more drunk afterwards.

wow, that sounds fun i shall have to remember to put some blue wkd in the freezer just before i go to bed this evening....

and test out your theory....

alio, you need some help.

No one else concerned the first thing she does is drink alcohol when she wakes up? I'm not b*tching, just.... concerned...

Reply 18

Could be because of the standing up suddenly, could be because of the sudden intake of sugar into the system. Or.. something else entirely. If it happens again, see a doc, otherwise i wouldn't worry.

There's nothing like booze to get you up in the morn..........err, afternoon.
