Hardest exm board

Wot iz the hardest exm board after readin an article i realised AQA gives the least number of A grades!!!!!!!!

I quote-
'A-level results reveal wide variations between the performance of exam entries with different boards.
- CCEA awarded A grades to 35.1% of its entries
- AQA awarded A gradesto 19.4% of its entries
- WJEC awarded A grades to 24.7% of its entries
- Edexcel awarded A grades to 26.3% of its entries
The UK average was 22.8%. Dont know how much OCR gives jus says highr dn AQA. Views welcome

I'll blame AQA for my lack of them, not my lack of ability!!!

The QCA make sure that an A on one board is an A on another. Don't worry!

There's no hardest exam board. Only in specific subjects does the difficulty between exam boards differ. Anyhow, you need to experience the same subject with different exam boards to formulate a view, otherwise it's just assumptions.

Not sure I agree although teachers do tend to choice exam boards according to how well they match the teachers and students expertise, intersts and skills, but:

And I could tell you it is easier. It's subjective. Nuffield is different; harder for some, easier for others.
CCEA is the hardest exam board. I know that according to your stats it awards more A's than the others. Maybe the Northern Irish students are just smarter :p: . I have done CCEA, AQA and OCR for different exams and CCEA is definately the hardest.
OCR.

Oh :frown: I was looking forward to be not doing any OCR board exams this year... Let's hope OCR are the hardest still!

Couldn't agree more, the fact that more people get As on CCEA doesn't mean that it is the easiest, it just proves that the peopele who sit exams on it (mainly northern Ireland students) work harder and/or very smart

I suppose it depends on individual people and how they deal with the different syllabuses (is it syallabii?). I mean GCSE Music for example... I did EdExcel and found it quite easy but saw the OCR and thought it looked impossible with the whole themed composition thing.

At my school (for GCSEs) we did AQA for everything except Music (EdExcel) and Business Studies (CCEA I think).

CCEA is deffinitly the hardest (students from Northern Ireland sit this board)

2nd hardest would deffinitly have to be AQA
i would say OCR- the majority of people who did general studies OCR at my school got on average a C/D at AS and this was a grammar school lol.
