I'm sure mine was back within about a week. I don't know whether it's allowed or not but I did drive around a bit before my licence came back but it was only around my area to get used to driving with no-one else in the car

Mine was about a week, but your pass certificate can be used until you recieve your licence I believe.

About a week

can be up to a month

Yes, the pass certificate counts as being licenced in the intervening time span, so you can drive so long as you've got it.

But you need to send the pass certificate off to get your licence, so you can't use it as proof. I think it says it can't be used as proof too.

worst case the police stop you, and ask you to provide your licence within however many hours/days. you can then tell them that you passed your test and they can verify with the dvla.

once you pass your test you get a certificate. you have to send that away to DVLA to get your new licence. it took about 3 weeks to get mine when i passed. if you do get pulled and get a producer, tell them your waitin for the full licence so they should give you some extra time

Yes, you can drive before your licence comes through.

well i hope it comes soon, becasue i passed on thursday morning and can't wait to get my pink card, will finally set in that i am a real driver!!

When i passed my test i gave them my provisional card and they sent it away for me. He gave me my certificate and said, if you get stopped by the police before your license arrives, this is proof that you have passed. Within a week my new card arrived.

congratulations good sir

its especially nice when youre out iwth your mates, and theyve all got the provisionals, and you get ID'd. its like a double whammy of 'yes i can drink legally' and 'yes i can drive legally'

regardless of whether you have proof, you are a legal driver as soon as you pass. The point is, you shouldn't be getting pulled over  , so, no worries.
