Yep, this is true, and while Oxbridge medics have more essays than medics at other places, I don't think we have so many lectures etc - we don't work the 9-5 days everyone else does (although if I did my essays in the day rather than at midnight, I might.) Medics are famed everywhere for working hard and playing hard. Some of my medic friends row, others play lacrosse and women's rugby for their colleges, a few are in their college choirs (although not at Clare). I don't know about the student union and stuff, but I'd assume it's possible.

Do current medics at oxbridge have time for other things (i.e. Student Union/Politics and Drama/Sport), or is their timetable too intense to allow for this?

And the same question really goes 2 medics at other universities at well.

Im thinking of oxbridge, but will i have more time if i go 2 edinburgh for bsms for other things??

you've got quite a bit of spare time, imo

because you do have quite a bit of spare time, I guess its down to how much you work yourself, but you can allocate quite a bit.
