Rutherford Hall!

Hey Guys, i'm starting at Loughborough Uni at the end of the month and have a room in Rutherford, only can't seem to find anyone else staying in the same hall...

Is anybody else staying there, or knows something about it, it's reputation, what the rooms are like etc...

Also does anyone know the website for it, all the other halls seem to have individual websites but the link for Rutherford doesn't seem to work?

Any help would be great. Thanks x x x

Rutherford is a cool hall, its right next cayley, you are our rivals so expect a lot of banter in the coming weeks!

The rooms are nice, the food is ok and ure committee are quite a laff this yr...
Also youre right next to whitworth for ure post and right next to the Shop and takeaway joint and the gym is just up the road...

All in all you could have done a lot worse.

My mate stayed in rutherford last year, with an en suite bathroom. its nice. the rooms are quite big and u got nice big desks. the only thing is that the student car park backs on to the back of rutherford. cool hall thou, it was one of my choices.

my bf was in whitworth tower in rutherford 2years ago. ive also seen one of the rutherford blocks and that was nice, a lot nicer than whitworth which was very drafty when it was windy!

I would say in general people don't really like Towers or Elvyn, and maybe Faraday. But it changes with every hall. Most popular hall is your hall. Best hall is Bill Mo. Rutherford i think might have a website, trying to remember if it had been made or not. Will try find it.

I'm rutherford too! Studying English. I dont have en suite which is a bit of a blow but i'm sure i'll survive heehee. Am excited but well nervous as well!

Do you have a 'new single room' or just 'single room' ? I opted for just the 'single room' & the extra £140 saved has gone on my platinum extra card :p:

Is there much difference between the 2 types, if any 1 knows..?

Hahahaha, its good banter every yr!
Ive dun 2 yrs already on cayley committee and part of the freshers sqaud this year so i'll be bk on the 17th. I do geography...colouring in haha

In terms of difference between new and old en-suite...theres not much diff apart from furnishings, as far as i know...

i was given a new single room not en suite. I've heard it just means there a bit more spacious but not sure. We'll have to have a nose at eachothers heehe!

Does any1 no what sort of fancy dress to bring? i no it had sum suggestions in the hall booklet like skool uniform & 70's but i'v heard so many different things!!

does anyone know if wardrobes in halls (esp. rutherford obviously) have a mirror in them? really 'picky' question i know but i was wondering if i need to lug my full length up - after all, us girlies need to know what our whole outfit looks like! hehe!

I would suggest bring your own, the room is likely to only have a mirror above the sink (in Elvyn was like this anyway). On a side note make sure you bring an extention lead so your hair straightners can be used by the mirror........in the rooms the plugs are invariably as far away as possible from the mirror!

Anyone from the rutherford committee on here to suggest to us what to bring fancy dress wise? the booklet didnt give much away, also is there a website? the website they give on the disc and the one on accomodation website r different and neither seem to work!
