My parents won't let me eat enough

not as in starving me:p: I mean for exercise purposes. I am building up my strength using free weight and weights machines down at the gym. for that, i need to eat a lot of calories each day. not too much junk food though. my parents are only letting me eat 3 meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and make it very hard for me to eat any more meals. for breakfast, they refuse to cook me bacon or eggs and when i want to cook it myself, they dont let me either because they think i will make a mess of the kitchen and not tidy up, or set the place on fire. they wont buy extra food either like more eggs or chicken or tuna because its 'unnecessary' according to them. and more than 3 meals a day they wont let me have.

i have pleaded with them but they wont budge. i have to stick to toast or cereal, for lunch i can eat a bit more but for dinner, its fixed portions and my family arent big eaters so they dont serve big enough portions. i am getting a maximum of 2700 or 2800 calories a day and i need 4000 or more a day, ideally. i have never been overweight in my life so its not like i will get too fat by eating a bit more.

how do i deal with this?

Bulking up isn't necessary either? no offence but I think that your parents are being more than fair. I mean they buy all food and if they don't want to fund your craving for bulking up then tough luck really :s-smilie: I mean if you want to buy more food/energy bars get a job and buy your own food! :yep:

you dont get it, do you? (I had to explain a second time to the 1st poster of my thread yesterday too because he couldnt be bothered to read what i wrote) even if i did buy my own food, my parents would not let me prepare it. if it was cold food that didnt need cooking or microwaving, they would stop me because they think i make a mess everywhere and dont clean up. even when i show them i dont make a mess, its just their excuse of saying 'we dont want you to prepare food'. if i cooked some food, they would think i would set the place on fire. another lame excuse, but they are stuck in their ways and wont let me. i have to resort to junk food but after a short while with that, they stop me and threaten to punish me. i cant win.:sigh:

Stop being a pussy and just eat the food. What ARE they gonna do? Seriously, just complain that you are hungry and make them look bad.

Well it isn't necessary.

If you want it then buy it yourself, why should they fund your muscle building fad?

Edit: cook it when they're out or something. Prove you can do it without making a mess.

If all your going to say when people offer suggestions is "You don't get it" then why did you post on this forum? What were you hoping people to say?
I understand.

I disagree. It might be necessary to increase his self-esteem, he might be really down about his body image. Also, it is healthy to do.

eat food outside of the house? go to a park and eat on a bench, make all the mess you desire.
According to your profile, you are 18! You should have a job and PAY for your own food, at least they are fair giving you food.

ffs, you're 18. If all else fails just go out and drink a gallon of milk every day for a month or 2. It comes to less than £3 for a gallon
LOL!!! Your parents sound like absolute control freaks! I bet that if you ate more anyway they would start locking the cupboards

Hmmm, are they in the house aaaaaall the time? Why not just cook when they are asleep, or at work, or out or something? If they ask where the food went, why not just say "Oh, well the kitchen is impeccably clean, so I can't have POSSIBLY prepared and eaten the food myself - maybe it was the fridge fairies? :moon:"

If worst come to worst, buy pre-cooked food and eat it outside. I know you may look a bit ferral eating a whole chicken in the middle of the park, but if you want to bulk up badly enough, you will do anything....... :ninja:

absolute nonsense
All I can say is that I hope to God you're 12.

Even at that age this whole thing would be pretty ridiculous. I fear I may have been trolled.

Eat in secret then, you silly div. :p:

I propose:

- Meal-drinks - you know the ones that have all the calories of a meal in a regular soda-size can? No need to even feckin' chew! A meal in a minute, I'd say.

- When they go to work/sleep, stuff yourself silly.

- Repeat.

Then, in a few months time, when you're all hench and bulked up around the house, they'll notice and it'll be a like a bitchslap to their overbearing egos.

Your parents sound a bit ridiculously strict, you are 18 and not even giving you a chance to prepare food is harsh even if you buy it with your own money, you can buy tuna that is drained and mixed prepared, and tuna " lunches" maybe buy them and eat them in your room? Also the whole roasted chicken idea is good. Would you have a facility for a cooler box :beard:
