is soas a good university?

It is 4th in the guardian table but 15th in the times, i want to do history (interested in the oriental and african stuff, but the offer req. is only BBC, so im thinking is it as good as the russel group unis, ucl, lse, etc? - especially through reputation and career options?

SOAS is your best bet if you're interested in African and Oriental history. However, if you want to pursue your studies in a more Western mindset, then it isn't.

It is good, but dont believe the league tables.. It isnt as good as LSE, UCL or Kings.

SOAS is very good, ive know a bunch of their graduates who went on to work in the UN, WTO, and other developmental intl organizations.

One can't really compare SOAS to any other non-specialised institution. SOAS is simply the very best in its field, and LSE is second to none in Economics, Law, etc.; neither of them should be compared to UCL or Kings, because of their more 'general' nature.
