Applying through UCAS as an Individual

Hi there,
I've left school but still in contact for a reference. What would you suggest, since they told me to apply to unis as an individual not afiliated to any institution. Ps they're all top class unis...
I've been told it makes not difference by my referee, simply for statistics hmm
Thanks

I applied as an individual as I was already at uni (re-applied). I got 6 out of 6 offers from top uni's and it's a pretty simple procedure - you should ask your school to email your reference and then you just paste it into a box on the application form with the name of your referee and contact details.

Cheers!
that's what she said she would do.
btw what did your unis say about you actually being at uni already? Or did you not tell them?

I mentioned in my personal statement that I wasn't happy with my course at uni and explained why i wanted to change. The uni's didn't seem to mind, although one did ask for a reference and grades from my tutor at uni.

applying as an individual is easy - you do everything you would do if you weren't an individual. The onyl thing thats different is that you get to copy and paste in you reference..................the is no advantage or disadvantage of doing either with regards to getting into a uni............................the fact that they're "top class" has no bearing on wether you should be indivdual or not.

I applied totally as an individual through UCAS I didn't have a clue what I was doing and how the system worked, but I managed to get some help off an adminisions tutor in an exchange of emails.

I applied as an individual, but got a reference from my old college. For some reason they wanted to put it on without me seeing it first, so had my application changed from an individual to one through them. But, as said, the only difference for the applicant is with regards to the reference.
