    Check this interview out

'In Europe it's crazy. Unfortunately in Europe, it's a reflection on society.

'If you are from another religion, or another country or a different colour then you can hear some bad stuff.

'I never heard any bad stuff about racism happening in the US.'

Well, Spain is pretty racist tbh.I doubt he was referring to his time at Arsenal, where he was worshiped.

He has a point to be honest. European football fans do not shy away from displaying racism, I've yet to see the same from the states.

I think he means in a footballing context. Either way he's got opinion has no credibility since he hasn't played in America before that interview so his comparison is void.

Erm, I think its pretty clear he means during a football game.

    I don't think he's ignoring slavery.

I think what he's said is fair enough. I've never heard of any racism at MLS games, but I know it has happened in European countries.

Yeah, but I mean to use that as a part-basis to move is crazy, and you cannot say that there is no racism in sport in America?
Well, we will see what happens anyways
Besides, he is living in NEW YORK! Lucky buggar

I imagine he is talking in a footballing sense. The European leagues, particularly the Spanish League, are filled with racism from players and fans, I'v never heard about any in MLS.

As an American, and a football fan, to weigh in on this, people may not know but there is no racism at our sporting events. We're a respectful lot. This doesn't have anything to do with endearing him to fans also - American's are already aware of this fact, so it's not like it would make us happy.

And to those talking about Alabama and Mississippi and any other random Southern state, while I'm not from one, I can say there is no racism in areas where there are large amounts of people. There are small pockets in a few states, but even that racism isn't allowed in public view. People know society won't except them.
