Hi

I'm applying to these 5 unis and would really appreciate it if any current students could tell me their impressions of what the unwritten student culture is like there...

e.g. predominantly crazy party times, quite 'nerdy', a bit 'yah-yah'-ish etc

any 'inside information' would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

-Not many black people
-Meaning the music is crap, only one night where there's decent music
-NO BASHEMENT
-Kind of need to be **** faced to enjoy the music

What day you coming down?

Umm like top 40 chart stuff, some electro stuff, dubstep, some cheese. Just crappy dance music. By small I mean I don't think I've seen/met more than 5 black people that were not international students that go to the uni

Ahh, I quite like electro and dubstep, but I can see myself being annoyed if they mainly play cheese and crappy chart music. Not even any RnB or anything??! FFS!

I know that I should be ready to not meet as many black people at uni than I would in London, but seriously?? That is worse than Durham...

On a completely random note, I didn't realise you were black until the moment you asked me if I was Nigerian

Very little RnB tbh, you'll probably have to be **** faced before you go out on most nights. Lol it's like the opposite of peckham . With all of this I still loved my time there would rate it 9/10 on the whole

Yeah met loads of cool people there and I really liked the atmosphere and my course. So it was really only the music on nights out that I didn't like much.
