Ah, so there's no need to pull out all stops then? You know, when going to the cinema. I hate the people who keep fussing over what to see. :colonhash:

*Joins* Watching films is my life :P. Really want to watch spirited away and the truman show as so many people have recommened it. I recommend a city of God and fight club

Hey! Welcome to the thread. :h: Glad you found your way here, you better be here often. :hmmm:

Yup. Spirited Away is a great film. I, however, preferred another film I watched later on - Howl's Moving Castle. But definitely give it a watch - then watch Howl's and tell us what you think.

The Truman Show is another great film.

Any favourites or recent films you've watched? Looking forward to any cinema releases?

Just came home from watching The Tourist... I actually quite enjoyed it. I read quite a few reviews before going that said how dissapointing it was considering the fact that the two biggest names in Hollywood were working on this, but I dunno, I liked it. It was a bit slow but the twist at the end was awesome and you know, looking at Johnny Depp for 90 minutes (or however long it was) kept me going.

Oh yeah, I agree! I think Im pretty open in what kinda films Id watch in general. Though if Im watching a film at the cinema then it takes some planning, comparing films etc. it would have to be worth seeing, not like a rom/com or something.

It was a bit strange to see him not being him as in an eccentric character.

Ah, so you're open to anything really? :holmes: Even it's a mind**** and occasionally disgusting?

Like Scanners or The Fly?

You could take the trip to Glasgow and see it at the Science Centre. It's near SECC, just right along that same bit along the river. It's like £8 for the IMAX at the Science Centre, I'm sure there are booking costs involved as well.

Going to see it on Saturday, but at another one that isn't in the city centre, but slightly out, at Xscape. Awesome place. Would be quite difficult to get to from Dundee I'd imagine.

I can't imagine doing that for Tron.

Maybe for a film like LOTR or The Hobbit. :colondollar:
The gay priests intro trailer in Tropic Thunder.

You're like 5 years too late to see LOTR on the IMAX. :p: The Hobbit is quite far away? And why not for Tron? IMAX 3D is the best there is, I saw Avatar at the IMAX last year and simply blew me away. Tron was filmed right from the start using 3D so it's bound to look as good, if not better.

Wonder if there is a movie on that premise out there already. :teehee:

Good thing about being on a gap year is i can watch loads of films til my heart's content , so i shall be here way too often :P. Ooo havent seen Howl's moving castle, weird name but if its not good I wont be pleased

I havent seen any good films at the cinema this year tbh except harry potter and inception, the rest havent been that good meh. I like films that are different/weird like wrist cutters: a love story, the butterfly effect, lars and the real girl, eternal sunsine, A beautiful mind (One of my all time favourites, makes me cry everytime!)

Oh yeah, I meant that level of anticipation and hype (and a film that is likely to meet expectations :colonhash:). I'm such a lazy **** that I couldn't travel to another city just to watch a film unless it was truly :eek4: - which Tron isn't for me.

Ah well. :emo:

Excellent. :colone:

Those (foreign animated) films are strange in a manner of speaking. The presentation, the story ... it's sort of beautiful and heartwarming. :awesome:

But if you like Spirited Away then you will, in my opinion, love Howl's Moving Castle.

What about Scott Pilgrim and Shutter Island? If not, I recommend them both for a watch too!

A Beautiful Mind is on my list of favourites too. You may also like Pan's Labyrinth, oh and, most definitely, Memento (if you liked The Butterfly Effect and Inception - you will like this.
