Wong Kei (Chinatown), Castle's Pie and Mash (Camden) and Brick Lane Beigel Bake (Brick Lane!).

If we're talking chains I'm partial to a Wagamama or Wasabi.

Food for thought. A little vegetarian restaurant in Covent garden. It's sooooo delicious (whether you're veggie or not) and it's so tiny it makes it really homely.
And afterwards, visit Cybercandy (shop) for sweets as afters :P

If you want something unique, my aunt went to some restaurant which is all in the dark... apparently fun.

EDIT: Oh also there is a restaurant called Sarastro if you like ott theatre style decorations/quirky stuff. Never been, but went for drinks and bread wth dipping oils at it's partner papagenos which has now closed down

It is in Covent garden too, drury lane.

You need to go to the Selfridges food hall for tasty goodness. Square Pie is a great place for lunch which can be found there too.

I love cybercandy! I wish it was bigger though and had all the stuff they have on the website.
