Just a quick inquiry.
I want to apply for a job, and the description asks candidates to send "applications with clippings" to the email address provided.
Does anyone know what this is referring to?
The job is a publishing assistant. Should I send a covering letter, or maybe samples of my writing (though the job description doesn't state that there will be copywriting)?

Thanks.

Clippings usually refer to writing you've had published. So if you've had an article published in a magazine or newspaper you'll take a 'clipping' of it and use it as an example of your work.

I guess it could also just mean an unpublished clipping of writing if its a junior position.
