Well, tomorrow I leave Newcastle to spend a week at Derby University getting training for working on a kids Summer Camp in the Lake District afterwards.

Hope you all enjoy your summer, I won't be back here until September!

Good luck to all you little guys with offers, I hope you all get into Durham, or if not the next best one

Byeeeee  x

Woooo... Derby!
My summer has been immense.

Well, ive been puppy training, making 200 pounds gambling while DESPERATELY trying to get a job. Still think im the least employable person on Earth, cos trying to get a job has not worked. Handed out 8 CVs today, something better come of it, or im just going to give up.. I swear to god.

Ive been mostly honing my football and tennis/badminton skills in time for the olympics/next world cup... and I am becoming an immense human being.

I am also thinking of tutoring some local kids for their sats/11+ - we shall see.

Employers seem to hate me too. 30 jobs applied for, 2 interveiws and 28 rejections. Why only go for SATS/11+s? Having done first years Chemistry and Physics work surely you could manage any type of A Level or GCSE maths and science work>?

No no, you already are sir. I take you back to the famous header of the TSRBBQ...

Having tried to get a job in similar ways for the past 2 years I can confirm you are unlikley to get one like that, as soon as most people see you're goin back to uni at the end of the summer, unless its a specifially summer job, they won't touch you. The only work I ever managed to get was in bars and you just walk in and ask. The only other way I've known people get jobs is one they've had since before uni or through a friend or relative

TSRBBQ header is one we will all remember.
I've got an interveiw this afternoon  I plan to tell them my firm university choice is Bristol and I think I'll get the grades and be willing to cointnue working at the place once I start. Am I allowed to do this, or is it illegal to lie in interveiws?

lol, you should be arrested for even conspiring to do that. Good luck though
Its certainly not illegal to stretch the truth, not at all!

And thanks for the idea, GCSEs and A levels are more my ball park, since im more familiar with them in my old age. Just got to plonk an advert in the paper now.

And thank you for remembering that immense header, I have almost forgotten it due to a partial concussion when Steven kicked me in the head... brain damage!!!

Im just kidding:wink:

Yeah you'll have a real hard time gettin one if they know you're buggering off. Luckily dearest mama knew of a hanfy summer vacation job for me!
TKR... Do you live in Weston as in Weston Super Mare near Bristol? How do you get to Durham? Train? Or fly to Newcastle, then train it from there? Is it possible to bring enough stuff on a plane (anyone can answer that!)?
Reply 3392
to be honest no. it is not possible to bring enough stuff on a plane - the only time i did it was when my dad was going for the weekend with a colleague so i had both their suitcase allowances as well.

i usually get the train you can get direct ones from bristol all the time. book far enough in advance and you can get a first class single for £20 or a std single for a tenner
Carrying all those suitcases would surely mean you had to be fairly buff... I doubt I would manage!

You'll have to carry lots of suitcases in freshers' week... I'm quite scared, I'm a weak and feeble little girl!

I'm confused ....why Bristol?
I live in Bristol... so I'd still be around next year kind of thing if I got the job (they might be unwilling to take on staff for lessthan 3 months), in the end I just blagged that I had no idea where I'd be going until my results came so had no concrete plans.

Smile sweetly at that rather attractive male freshers rep.

Preferably who is stacked and also heading to your college.

Kathryn just finished her second year so I don't think it's of her concern how to carry her own suitcases but how to carry the suitcases of others.
