Hello from the Lake District

Hope everyone's well :biggrin:

Life is stressing me out - working with kids who come from such deprived backgrounds that they beat each other up, swear at me, argue constantly, vandalise property and so on. Then also working with kids who have mental problems, hyperactivity, and criminal records. ARGH

But yeah, still a bit of a laugh.

Yeah, I went to Lourdes on one of the pilgrimages to volunteer as a brancardier, basically a private helper for the handicapped people who go there. There was one kid, even though he wasn't under my care, in our group, who also had behavioural problems as a result of his illness. It's horrible. The worst are the moments you get angry at them, before you realise it's not actually their fault, and they just have an illness, rather than just being little ****s. And then you feel guilty. But still......good times.

Glad all's not too bad, dobbs. Keep up the good work.

I am terribly worried about living 30 metres from Subway, Greggs, Pizza Express and O'Briens next year. I'm going to get very fat and very poor.

Just a point - the forum id - in the URL - for the Universities forum is 16. The forum id for Durham is 17. Does this mean we were the first University to have it's own sub-forum?
