OK, here's a sure fire conversation starter; What's the most unusual animal you've touched? Mine is an owl, it perched on my shoulder and everything. Not very exotic, but very exciting when you're 6 (or 18!) I want an owl!:mad:

What's a chinchilla when it's at home? Is it a dog, or am I thinking of a chihuahua?

I remember when I was about 11 and me and a friend were on an outdoor course thing, and someone was talking about Tawny Owls. Me and said friend just kept saying Porny Owls in general conversation. What ho, Chris! A Pawny Owl at three o'clock!

At the time, it was hilarious.
I have touched a terrapin, a chicken, a couple of snakes, a tarantula, a cockateel, a rat and a madagascan hissing cockroach :biggrin: They lived in the science lab at my junior school, along with several other less interesting creatures and a st bernard's dog.
I reached under a chair in our conservatory to pick up a crisp I'd just dropped. I picked up a snail.

though you have just reminded me, i too have experienced the snail touching. we had to race them in science once.
very random conversation indeed but i like it! i do feel boring tho dont think i hav touched any unusual animal just the basics, pretty glad i havnt touched a snake or a spider! i do hav a bird!
I have a bird too. And I've done more than just touch her.

Oh, and, if anyone's interested, I have also been to the party that kid goes to in The Snowman, I danced with the snowmen, and the answer is yes, they are cold, but you don't notice after a while.
