I got given 3000 pounds as a bursary by the university, it's a hard life.

Well, strictly speaking I got mine to help with going to California, which is actually rather expensive.
Would you say the bursary is enough to equalise it to the costs of a year t'Durham??
It's the opportunity more than the money. This will be a job in one of the UK's most prestigious law firms. *salivates*

Nice one!

Haha, I do English. No placements for me. On the upside, I might get to be a struggling playwright after leaving uni. YES!

Who needs money, anyway. It only buys material things like cars, houses, love and happiness.

My former housemate is an English student and she's made sure she won't be jobless by doing loooooads of work experience.

ahh familiar sentiments  classics and theology are equally useless :suith:
Very few degree subject material has any use in the real world, outside of academia. I mean, am I really going to be measuring particle energies in 3 years time? Probably not.

Wait, I hate kids. My bad.

It depends, accomodation here is much, much more expensive but living costs are lower. But when you factor in flights, it works out cheaper to be in Durham.

Well done but ew, law.

I don't know that that is ncessarily the case in social sciences as much, a lot of the stuff I'm currently doing is directly related to planning and urban policies, which directly relates to cities and so forth.

Why do you ask about the play?
I don't think it's that big of a deal, but I'm not one of those theatre-types, so I couldn't really say.

I'm doing the costumes, hair and make-up for it and was just wondering if it was the kind of thing that EVERYONE goes to and is taken really seriously or not! Kind of stressed at the moment so I'm hoping that it's not taken too seriously!!!
